VICTORIA'S
RESTAURANT AND COFFEE SHOP PITLOCHRY
Established in May 1996, Victoria's has gone from strength to strength
under the careful and dedicated ownership of Fiona & Angus John
MacLellan and their enthusiastic, young family of three. Indeed,
the restaurant was given the name of their youngest child, Victoria,
who works alongside her parents in the restaurant during school holidays. Her two
older brothers, John and Lewis have also worked in the restaurant over the years. Lewis now attends university in Glasgow but can still produce a mean espresso when required to help out during his university breaks. Their eldest son, John works overseas on mega yachts and he also was barista trained in Victoria's. It is a delicate question - just who is the best barista in the family?
Passionate about coffee, and hospitality in general, Victoria's exudes a natural ambience of informal quality that you will be delighted to experience.
Victoria's offers quality catering with the emphasis on high standards
of hospitality - a simple philosophy that the whole family works
hard to achieve and maintain.
Fiona and Angus John learned their skills under the guidance of
Angus John's parents, Mairi & John MacLellan. Mairi & John
came to Pitlochry in 1986 when they purchased the Pine Trees Hotel
and so began the long and happy relationship of the MacLellan clan
in Pitlochry. Along with other family members, Fiona & Angus
John worked alongside Mairi & John until 1996 when they branched
out on their own. Upon Pine Trees being sold in 1998, Mairi &
John retired and enjoy a happy and healthy retirement here still
in Pitlochry.
Other family members also reside in Pitlochry. Two brothers
and their wives, and sister and her husband run excellent guest houses in the town. Jane &
Calum MacLellan own and operate Craigmhor Lodge, Jackie &
Iain MacLellan, Rosehill Guest House , and Mairi & Sean Mansell, Ellangowan - all establishments also
being run to very high standards of hospitality and cuisine. (See links page)
Having refurbished the premises in 1997, Fiona and Angus John re
inforced their committment to Victoria's and Pitlochry by adding
an extension to the building in 2003. This has doubled the seating
capacity bringing it now to a 90 seater inside with the added seating
capacity of 30 outside on the terrace, weather permitting.
The FAMILY is very important to Fiona & Angus John and this
can be cleary seen in the decor of the newly refurbished Victoria's.
All around the restaurant, beautifully displayed in tasteful frames
are exquisite pictures and photographs of both Fiona & Angus
John's family. It is a statement of the love and pride they both
hold so dear for each other's family and a promise to remember their
history and heritage, and above all, a strong desire to always remember
who they are, where they came from; and utilmately where it all
began. |
